Short on time, but want to learn? Discover ReefCheck is a 1 or 1.5 day course designed to introduce you to reef surveying, monitoring and conservation techniques.

What will I learn?

The aim of this course is to help you to learn how to identify key coral reef fish, invertebrates, corals and algae, find our why they are vital to coral reef health, learn survey techniques used by marine biologists and help to conserve the earth’s threatened coral reefs.

Spend half a day learning how to identify marine species and how monitoring the earth’s threatened reefs can help to conserve our oceans and aquatic life.

See first-hand how marine biologists conduct coral reef research and try your hand at some of the sampling techniques used in monitoring coral reefs. Choose between spending a day out on the boat visiting the beautiful dive sites at Ko Haa or, spend the afternoon making one dive on our house reef.

Who can participate?

You should be eligible to participate in the Discover ReefCheck course if you meet the following criteria:

* Aged 10+
* Certified Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
* Interested in Marine Science
* In general good health and fitness
* Not suffering from cold or ear infection

If you have any concerns about your buoyancy skills, please consider participating in a Buoyancy Clinic before you start the course.

How much does it cost?

The price includes, all your training, dive equipment rental and transfers to and from your resort. It also includes lunch, tea, coffee and water during the course.

On the boat, we supply breakfast, lunch, drinking water, soft drinks and fruit. We also provide a selection of fruit juices, chocolate milkshake and towels on each trip.

We keep group sizes small to ensure you receive maximum benefit from your tuition. This also minimises negative impact on the reefs.
